Businessman Survives Armed Attack Outside His Shop in Lords Bank

Lords Bank, Belize (WBWTN)– A local businessman is recovering after being shot while closing his shop on Wednesday night.

According to police reports, around 9:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2025, 49-year-old Glenford Williams was locking up Shamera's Mini Shop in Lords Bank, Ladyville Village, when he was suddenly approached by two masked gunmen.

Williams was reportedly exiting the store through a side door when one of the attackers pointed a firearm at him and fired. The bullet struck Williams in the body. Despite being injured, he managed to run back into the shop and lock the door, stopping the gunmen from entering. The attackers then fled in the direction of the nearby river.

Emergency services responded quickly, and Williams was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he remains in stable condition as he recovers from his injuries.

Authorities found a single used 9mm shell casing at the location. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.Investigators are asking the public to share any information that could help with the case
