(WBWTN)-A Punta Gorda family is grappling with grief and forgiveness after 27-year-old Jeremiah Coc was found brutally murdered in bushes along Mahogany Street yesterday morning.

Police responded to the scene around 8:35 a.m. on Friday, April 18, discovering Coc’s body with multiple chop wounds—including a deep gash under his chin, a forehead injury, and a severe shoulder wound. The Maya-descent laborer, a resident of Indianville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

While investigators scramble for leads, Jeremiah’s older brother took to Facebook with a raw, heartbreaking message directed at the killer:

“You shattered my mother’s heart. Left a hole in ours. Was this worth it? I won’t lie—my brother wasn’t perfect. But no one deserves to be butchered like wood. Yet hear this: Our family forgives you. May God judge us all.”

The post, flooded with condolences, ends with a simple: “RIP, little bro. XOXO.”

Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward as the hunt for answers intensifies.
